A Regular Blog

I have several blogs: one for my book, one that is safe for kids with animal cuties and one about meditation.  Since I haven't used this one for its intended purpose of funny old people stuff, I will make it a regular blog, like about day to day crap.  Everything may not be funny, but I will try!

I Have A New DO!

My wonderful daughter cut, styled and colored my hair!  It looks wonderful!  I never wanted to go red for I  always saw old women with red hair and it looked so RED, fake and that they were trying to hard to  look young.

I like my red hair!  She picked the absolute for my skin tone and the cut is wonderful!  Checkout my pic and let me know what you think.  I feel like a new woman, a fresh woman!

"Trouble with Nouns"

Don't you just hate it when you do this..."Oh, you know, uh, kinda like...what's the word?"  An expert called it "trouble with nouns".  Nouns?  Heck!  More like, trouble with verbs, adjectives, etc.

I guess I first noticed it in  the last decade.  "Oh, you know!  She was in "Casino" and she married the guy from "Shampoo"!  What's her name!"  Then, suddenly, in the middle of another conversation..."Annette Benning"!

I figure it is because I know so many words! My brain is so full of useless info and at times I have trouble recalling another bit of trivia, right?  I don't consider it  a deficit, but a plus.  I  mean, what is the big deal in not remembering another actresses name?  Eh...

The one that actually bothers me is not remembering the name of a band from the sixties or the seventies.  That bothers me!  argh  You know the song, maybe you even have a sense memory related to the song, say the smell of Patchouli (ugh), but you can't remember the name or the band or something.  Frustrating!

In summary, trouble with nouns = no big deal.  Trouble with remembering a song title or the group is an "ARGH!" moment!

What foods don't love you anymore?

I don't know about you, but my body has decided that it won't allow me to eat certain things anymore.  Is  it age?  I don't know.

What does a slice of raw onion do to you? argh I love it, but it doesn't love me!  I remember hearing adults say that when I was a kid.  "I love bell pepper, but it doesn't love me!"  I always wondered how foods could love you.

So!  I have been lactose intolerant for years, but suddenly last summer I was sick for  like two weeks and finally figured out I was gluten intolerant.  What foods have gluten?  Way more than you would think!  Gluten is wheat protein, basically and it is everywhere!

You know how much a loaf of gluten free bread costs? Close to $6.00!  My favorite, since you ask, is Udi bread.  You have to get it frozen, and usually at a health food store, but it is worth it.

What do I miss the most?  PIZZA!
Pizza has gluten and lactose! argh

What can't you eat anymore?

Hoarding Made Easy...hold onto your youth!

How much are you hoarding?  How many cats do you have?

Well, I have four cats and need to have a yard sale!
I found a dress from the seventies, a royal blue silk sheath.  Why do I hang onto it?  To see the size I used  to be!  What an idiot!

Am I still trying to recapture my youth?  Heck no!  "Run youth, run!"

I do believe that "youth is wasted on the young" George Bernard Shaw) though!

I would love to be as healthy and fit and pretty as I was when I wore that dress, but with the  knowledge I have now...right?

Not so fast...knowing what I know now, I wouldn't have been in that nightclub acting the way I did!

So keep your youth young folks and we will keep our dreams and memories and put them behind our new dreams and goals.

Try Something New

 Try something new!

Facebook is fun and you can find old friends and even new friends on it.

Eons is fun too and is senior specific.  There a lot of great groups there and friends to meet with common interests.

Have a great day!
